Purple flowers (31/123)

Hi friends!

Went to the loblaws garden center the other day. Here combines two of my favourite things: purple and flowers.
I like the depth which shows the length of the flowers. Bottom is kinda bothering me though. Maybe we are due for a crop.
See ya!

Rastko (30/123)

Hi friends!
It is Rastko's birthday today, happy birthday (#1 Serbian) Rastko!
We had a little party here and I actually think this picture describes him pretty perfectly. You got the Run DMC rapper part of him, and the geeky cute face with glasses while he's making typical "myspace" picture look.
We had lots of fun, just hanging out.
Enjoy the Rastko filled pic! Post comments of fave times with Rastko!

Old times (28/123)

hi friends!
OK, ok I'm sorry. I've cheated. I did not take this picture today. That would mean I'd have to turn back the clock like Hermione, which I cannot unfortunately.
So remember what I said on my very first post? Quiz time!
OK, well I said how photography connects people. This photo was taken at my grade 8 grad (film, obvi, back then I did not have a digital camera. Which is CRAYCRAY cause know how now grade 5s have things like iPods? What the bajeebus??). Bethany was my best friend at the time, the day after this picture was taken she moved to Manitoba.
When I see this photo I think the tears I shed that night, thinking I was SO old and I'd never see my friends again, I remember the dancing, the hot mess I was because of dancing, the top deck cooling off, and overall the bad top 40s music (hits include Pon de Replay(Rihanna), Hollaback girl (Gwen Stefani), Don't phunk with my heart (Black Eyed Peas), and We belong together (Mariah Carey)) .
Though I didn't take this picture today, I love this picture. It encompassed a part of me, a part of my life that I could never forget. Though I hardly talk to Bethany now, this picture connects us. Though now we are living completely different lives, it gives us something in common.

Thanks for listening to all my sentimental blahblah,
Morgs

PS. Got any pictures like this that make you remember the good 'ol days?

Little flowers (26/123)

Hi peeps,
These are some little flowers, hense title. When I was taking this I really didn't realize the weird focus, I think it's because of the angle I took the photo on. Well, it's not weird focus but kind of weird focus, I think. What do you think? Weird or no?

Heart y'all faces,
Morgs

PS done B&W film. Also, sorry about the weird border, it's the scanner trying to sabotage my photos again.

Self-portrait (24/123)

Hi everyone!
Today I was feeling very feminine. I went out with my friend downtown and it was gorgeous and I was wearing a dress, heels, lipstick and my hair was back and curly. So I looked very feminine and girly.
So, here's my story. After I said bye to my friend I walked across the street to wait for my dad to pick me up. Right as I crossed the street, this guy came riding by on a bike and whistled at me, then looked back as he kept riding. I'm thinking really, was that really necessary? So I stop because I'm waiting for my dad and he kind of keeps going then just stops and STARES at me. SO blatant. I'm thinking, okay I really don't want him to come over here, cause then I have to deal with it etc. Any girl who has ever had a guy blatantly check her out knows what I mean. If they actually come over normally with an opening line like "hey baby" or "looking good," you have to be like, please go away.
So first of all I just don't understand, I would never be interested in someone who is so tacky as to whistle at me on the street. What do you really expect? Me to fall at your knees because you are oh so charming with your whistling? No. This is what I just don't understand. After men whistle do they REALLY expect anything?
So I'm going to go all feminist here, because I am a feminist and it's hard not to relate it to this. But it just annoys me so much when these things happen. Why do you hit on me on the street and think it's okay to cat-call me or whistle at me. Just because I'm walking here, just because it's so hot out that I am wearing a short skirt doesn't mean it's somehow okay for you to say anything to me. I DON'T KNOW YOU.
Of course, maybe that's why they are saying something, because they want to get to know me. But like I said before, no I'm not going to date you or do anything with you because EW you just tried to pick me up by whistling at me.
Anyway, there's a woman in New York who started a website where she took her video camera out on the street and any man who yelled at her something like "nice ass!" she'd go up to and say, why did you just yell that at me? For the most part, they were really stunned and didn't know how to respond.
So why do it?
This is why I posted this picture of myself. Even though it's really only a picture of my hand, my lips, my nose, my ear. These are just my physical features, not ME. Though I live in this body, I'm not only my body. I have a mind, an opinion, a voice. Though you might like what you see, I'm not simply just what you see.

Thanks for listening to my rant,
Morgs

Kieran (23/123)

Hi friends!
this is my good friend, Kieran. We were downtown today (and it was SO nice) so I decided to let him be the subject of my photo for today.
Kieran has lots of freckles, brownish light hair, he does a lot of plays. There you go, some fun facts of Kieran.
Also, all of his friends sisters and mothers ADORE him. Am not joking. My sister is not-so secretly in love with him. They want me to marry him. So voila! Fun facts of Kieran.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Looking Up (22/123)

Hi Friends!
Beautiful day, again. Had a garage sale today! Went pretty well, I'd say.
Best things about summer is lying down on the grass and looking up to the clouds, or at night looking at the stars. One of my favourite things to do, really. That is what is also great about being in the country, you don't have the bad street lights which don't allow you to see all the stars really.
Has anyone ever done a time exposure of the stars at night? They are SO COOL. I want to do one this summer. If you don't know what it is, basically you have a tripod, point your camera up at the sky on a clear night and do a time exposure of a couple hours and your picture can turn out so cool because the stars move around.
An example:

Enjoy! See you tomorrow!
