A Magnolia Spring (1/123)

Hi Friends!
It's May already! Can you believe it? I don't know if I can, 1st year went by way too fast.
So here is my first post, after a rainy 1st of May, this is a snap of our Magnolia tree which resides right outside and to the left of our house. It seems to be fading away, as you can see by the petals in the background.
This is what I love about our April-May switch of months. This tree is just so blossoming, pink and overall happy (if you can use such an adjective to describe a tree) that its hard not to be happy hearing the Spring bells chiming in the distance.
Though this photo may not win a photo award of any such or even get noticed past this blog, some times that is good. I've been doing some reflection lately over what makes a good photo. And maybe it doesn't take too much. Maybe a winning photo really should only qualify as something that even stimulates some sort of reaction in even one person.
While taking photographs, at times I feel pressured (not by others, by myself) to take the most wonderful picture. To make people proud of me. To have people point me out and say, she's a really great photographer.
But maybe that isn't what I should be striving for. Obviously I'd love for all my photos to be fabulous, but that of course isn't always the case. We all do great photos, we all do shitty photos. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to do those great photos.
My point here is, seeing as this is the first of one hundred and twenty three photos I have dedicated and promised this summer, not all of them will be amazing, but maybe that's part of the ride. If I can stimulate anything in you, the reader (whom ever you may be), then my job and my goal here is done.
On that note I hope you enjoy the rest of your May 1st and I will see you tomorrow!

Morgan
